Let's Get Ready for Easter: Outside

There’s something sacred about tears that come from a place deeper than emotion—what we might call “holy tears.” These are the moments when our hearts break for the things that break God’s heart. Jesus showed us this when He wept over Jerusalem and at Lazarus’ tomb. He wasn’t just emotional—He was moved by love, loss, and the deep spiritual condition of those around Him.

And honestly, that kind of response is a big part of genuine, authentic faith.

Holy tears aren’t just about feeling sad—they’re a sign that we’re truly engaged. That we’re paying attention. That we care about what really matters. They remind us to slow down and ask: What stirs my heart? What spiritual needs am I overlooking?

They should push us to pray more boldly, think about the people in our lives who don’t know Jesus, ask God to open doors for real conversations, and look for ways to gently and honestly share our story.

This kind of faith isn’t always comfortable—it means letting ourselves feel. It means loving people enough to be moved by their spiritual state even when they are far from God.

But that’s the kind of love that reflects Jesus's heart.

So maybe today’s the day we ask God to help us see others through His eyes and not hold back when He moves our hearts.
