In a world obsessed with better-better jobs, better coffee, better bodies, better tech, we often find ourselves caught in an endless cycle of upgrading and optimizing. But what if "better" isn't something we build, but someone we meet?

The Problem with Cultural "Better"
Our culture promotes countless paths to self-improvement and spirituality. Common messages include:

"All roads lead to God"

"Just be sincere"

"Be a good person"

"We're all on the same path"

But these cultural answers still leave us wondering if we're truly right with God. Even when we try our best, we fall short of our own standards.

Jesus makes a bold claim in John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This isn't just religious rhetoric - it's a revolutionary statement that sets Jesus apart in three key ways:

Jesus as The Way
Unlike other religions that require us to climb up to God through good works, Jesus comes down to us. He doesn't offer a program - He offers Himself.

Jesus as The Truth
Truth isn't customizable or relative - it's absolute and embodied in Jesus. He exposes false hopes and empty paths that promise peace but lead to anxiety.

Jesus as The Life
Jesus didn't come to make bad people behave better - He came to make dead people live. Real life begins when we meet Jesus, not when we get our act together.

The Proof is in the Resurrection
Jesus didn't just make claims - He proved them through His resurrection. Over 500 eyewitnesses saw Him after He rose from the dead. His disciples were so convinced that most died for this truth. The historical evidence for Jesus surpasses most ancient historical figures.

The key question isn't "How can I be better?" but "Have I met Jesus?" Consider these questions:

• What if you've spent your whole life trying to fix what only Jesus can save?
• What if the truth you've built your life around isn't actually true?
• Are you ready to move from self-improvement to surrender to Jesus?

This week's challenge: Instead of being better, focus on knowing Jesus better.

If you have never done this before: 

• Admit your need for Jesus
• Believe He is who He says He is
• Choose to follow Him and be baptized,  not just improve yourself.
